Until I start getting my greenway information up (see yesterday’s post), you can find information on your local greenways at the following parks & rec sites.

    What a great project to be engaged in. I’m looking forward to the output.

    Perhaps “Rail-trails” could be the next project. They are of course in some ways similar to greenways. I’ve read about a planned rail-trail near Franklinville/Ramseur (just this side of Asheboro) which has a small segment open already, and possibly the biggest project under construction is the Tobacco Heritage Trail in nearby Southside Virginia.

    Keep up the excellent and enjoyable work.

    1. Hi Foy,

      Rails-to-Trails will be part of the project (I think there are 9, currently, in North Carolina). My plan is to have the ATT up within a month, at least a basic map and information.

      Do you know who’s behind the Franklinville/Ramseur project?

        I stumbled upon the Deep River Rail Trail listing via ncrailtrails.org. It appears to be in the early stages of design and construction and will augment the Deep River Paddle Trail. Just a short section in Franklinville is open at present.
