90 Second Escape: Moments (that make a hike)

Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.

Today’s 90-Second Escape: Moments (that make a hike)

The scenery may be grand and stellar, the weather a made-to-order 72 under cloudless, humidity-free skies. But it’s the smaller moments that we typically take away from a hike. The moments that wedge permanently into our highlight reel. The creek crossing that didn’t go quite right, the sunlight that caught a wildflower just right, the droll observations of your companions.

We’ve assembled 90 seconds worth of those moments that have made our hikes over the fall. We’re guessing they’ll trigger similar recollections from your forays into the woods.
