90 (-plus) Second Escape: Colorado Trippin’

Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.

Today’s 90-Second Escape: Colorado Trippin’

Colorado Trippin’

Our favorite freelance adventurers, ABA, return this week with a slightly-longer-than-90-Second Escape documenting a road trip last May to Colorado. ABA — Alex, Ben and Alex; you may remember them from 2012’s “Modern Rafters,” their excellent adventure in a homemade raft down the Cape Fear River — spent the week between the end of freshman year and the start of summer jobs on a trip out West, a journey with all the elements of a classic road trip, from sleeping in Honda Civic climbing into the Colorado high country before it was ready to open for the summer to flashing lights in the rear view mirror.

It’s a little over 90 seconds, but well worth the escapist investment.
