Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: Backpackers for Life
It was the fall weekend you dream about on the trail, and we knew it the second we got out of the car: cool air but warm sun, dry, not a cloud to be seen. We all stood for a few moments, soaking it in before turning to one another and smiling.
This past weekend, our GetBackpacking! Triad class from September took their graduation trip to South Mountains State Park. As an instructor and trip leader, as someone eager to share the joy of extended life on the trail, the weather was a godsend. As an instructor and trip leader, your only job on a weekend like this is to stay out of the way and let nature cast her spell. Which is just what happened.
No more words. Just visual evidence to show you why the grads from this class are now backpackers for life. Click on our hikers and enter their world this past weekend.
