If you’re an experienced hiker looking for an early kickoff to your fall hiking season, here it is: 7 miles of hiking, topping Hattaway, Sugarloaf and Morrow mountains. Saturday is National Tracks Trails Day, celebrating the kid-oriented hiking trails in our state parks, and nine of North Carolina’s State Parks are participating: Weymouth Woods, Dismal Swamp, Raven Rock, Chimney Rock, South Mountains, Merchants Millpond, Cliffs of the Neuse and Occoneechee Mountain.
