Where to paddle: Greenville

Merchants Millpond

Lots of options await Greenville paddlers. Superb swamp paddling can be found at two state parks — Merchants Millpond and Goose Creek — while intimate passage through coastal farmland is the trademark of Contentnea Creek. The nearby Neuse offers a big river experience, and just when you thought you didn’t have time to paddle, low-and-behold the Tar River sums right through town.

Don’t have a boat? No problem. Find out where to rent one here.
