Osgood Canal and Greenway Trail

Length: 2.1 miles
Description: Runs along Osgood Canal and links the Town’s Central Business District, Burgaw Middle School, the Historic Depot, Burgaw Elementary School, and Harrell and Hankins parks.
Future plans: Ultimately provide five neighborhood parks strategically placed along the trail.

South Tar River Greenway

Length: 3.1 miles
Description: Officially opens June 11 at 10 a.m., with ceremony at Greensprings Park on 5th Street.
Future plans: Part of a greenway that will connect Greenville with Washington.

Greenway at the Recreation Complex off NC 101

Length: 1.02 miles
Description: Greenway at the Recreation Complex off NC 101
Future: Will be establishing a 4-plus mile Greenway on McCotter Canal soon.

Jacksonville-Camp LeJeune Rails-to-Trails greenway

Length: 5.5-mile
Description: Runs from Camp LeJeune to Jacksonville. Part of the East Coast Greenway. Access at Holcomb and NC 24, Camp Knox Road and NC 24, Ellis Boulevard and Bell Fork Road, Onslow Drive and US 17.

Manteo Bike/Multi-Use Path

Length: 8.8-mile greenway
Description: Runs length of Roanoke Island along US 64/264. Access at Roanoke Island Festival Park and in downtown Manteo.

Tar River Trail

Length: 3.1 miles
Description: Runs east along the Tar River from Sunset Park to to Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Passes through Battle Park, and past several town landmarks.
In addition: Town has about four additional miles of greenway, including a roughly 2-mile stretch running from the Tar River Greenway south to the Sports Complex.
