It's been a while since I've talked with parks & rec about Forest Ridge; the last time was about a year ago and development had stalled. I'll give a call downtown and report back what I find. Thanks for the reminder.

After serendipitously learning about the trails off Old 98 (what will hopefully become Forest Ridge Park) and spending some time last week and weekend exploring those trails, I set out to learn what I could about that area.

A search on this site for Forest Ridge yielded only this article, and as it says, as of late 2010 it appeared to be in limbo. However, if you look at the Raleigh web site that links to the Forest Ridge Park page that you link to in this article, it actually says construction will begin in March 2012! ( http://www.raleighnc.gov/arts/content/PRecDesignDevelop/Articles/ParkAndGreenwayPlanningAndDevelopment.html ) There isn't even any use of the qualifier word "Expected" as there is for some of the other projects.

So I'm wondering if your hike with Wayne Marshall ever yielded any new information and whether you have learned anything new related to Forest Ridge. In the meantime I suppose I'll just enjoy the area until next March!
