We have rented canoes and kayaks at Lake Macintosh in Alamance County for years.

Where would be a good place close to Concord? Would like to avoid Charlotte, if at all possible. Any suggestions anyone?! Thanks so much!!

In reply to eddie. Either Lake Johnson in Raleigh or Lake Crabtree in Morrisville. Johnson is more intimate, with more nooks to explore, Crabtree is bigger, more exposed. Both are good first-time options.

Where is the best place to go for first time kayak rentals..what lake?
Want to rent right where we would launch..with in 45 min of Raleigh or in Raleigh.
