Triangle: Jordan Lake Educational State Forest

$0.99

Looking for a relatively easy hike? Jordan Lake Educational State Forest includes trail options of 0.6, 0.9 and 2.2 miles — or link ’em all together for about three and a half miles of hiking through a forest with views of the lake.

Description

North Carolina has seven Educational State Forests, including the Jordan Lake Educational State Forest on the shores of Jordan Lake. The 3.5 miles of trail is a welcome addition at Jordan Lake, which has only one other trail network open to the public. The three loops here are some of the beginner friendliest in the region: the trail surface is generally smooth and the terrain flat. Not only is the hiking here a good escape, but with educational kiosks along the way you can also learn a thing or two about woods you’re hiking in.
