Description
Welcome to our 2023 Monthly Hike Series, with weekly self-guided hikes! Once a month, we lead a hike in the 7- to 8-mile range; four hikes are in the Triangle area, four elsewhere in the Piedmont. Lunch is included with four of the hikes. In addition, to encourage you to hike between our monthly hikes, every Monday we will send two recommended hikes for the week: a shorter afterwork hike, a longer hike for the weekend. Details follow.
When: Once a month, on a Sunday, we will hold a guided hike. All hikes start at 9 a.m.
Distance: Generally in the 7- to 8-mile range.
How many hikes: 8 monthly hikes, including 4 in the Triangle area, 4 elsewhere in the Piedmont.
Lunch? Four hikes include lunch afterward, a casual, catered affair.
Weekly self-directed hikes: Every Monday you will receive two hike recommendations for the week: One, a shorter hike, is for after work/evening. The other, longer, is for the weekend. We will include a recommended time to gather; you will receive an eguide for each hike.
Year of the Trail: We will provide the latest information on Year of the Trail Trail Day Weekend Hiking Festivals throughout the state.
Cost: $195 for individuals, $350 for couples and families.

May 7 — Mountains-to-Sea Trail: NC 50 to NC 98 | 7.2 miles | 9 a.m. – noon
June 11 — Medoc Mountain State Park | 7.6 miles | 9 a.m. – noon | Lunch to follow
July 9 — Hanging Rock State Park | 6.5 miles | 9 a.m. – noon | Lunch to follow
August 13 — Stone Mountain State Park | 7.1 miles | 9 a.m. – noon | Lunch to follow
September 10 — MST: Tom Clark Road to Red Mill Road | 5.5 miles | 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
October 8 — Butner Game Lands at Falls Lake | 7.5 miles | 9 a.m. – noon
November 12 — Birkhead Mountain Wilderness | 7.6 miles | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Lunch to follow
December 10 — MST: Hickory Hill Boat Ramp to Cheek Road (includes two new sections) | 7.0 miles | 9 a.m. – noon
