To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.

Today’s 90-Second Escape: Rope Swing

When the heat and humidity are battling it out for supremacy, there’s one sure bet for outdoor relief: get wet. And what better way to get wet than by getting airborne shortly before doing so?

Today, a salute to the rope swing and those daring young men and women who know how to make the most of flight-before-splash. And today, we introduce a new adventure cinematographer, Ben Rice, who splits his time between the Triangle and Blacksburg, Va. We think you’ll appreciate his perspective, energy and creativity.
