Description
North Carolina has seven Educational State Forests, including the Jordan Lake Educational State Forest on the shores of Jordan Lake. The 3.5 miles of trail is a welcome addition at Jordan Lake, which has only one other trail network open to the public. The three loops here are some of the beginner friendliest in the region: the trail surface is generally smooth and the terrain flat. Not only is the hiking here a good escape, but with educational kiosks along the way you can also learn a thing or two about woods you’re hiking in.
