Description
It’s not often you get to hike under an interstate highway, or along an airport runway, or beneath a billboard. And while those aren’t typically things that excite us about a trail, when it comes to the 60-mile stretch of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail along Falls Lake north of Raleigh, they’re certainly defining features on this 3.2-mile stretch. But there’s also a lot of great nature, from a large farm pond just west of where Tom Clark and Redwood roads unite, to the swampy passage near the west end, to the bottomland woods that dominate along the way. Best of all, the hiking masses have yet to discover this diverse stretch of trail.
