Today’s 90-Second Escape: Fall 1011: The Endless Autumn.

For various reasons, but mostly because of too little rain and too much heat, the past several falls in the Piedmont have been notably unspectacular. Not this year. The meteorological stars aligned in 2011 to create one of the more spectacular fall color shows in recent memory. And not just rich in color, but long-lasting, too.

Here’s a look back at the Fall of 2011. (We’ll refrain from calling it a final look back because, who knows, we may be back with even more color next week.)
