Triangle: Eno River S.P. | Fews Ford 7-Miler

This 5-trail loop hike at Eno River State Park in Durham, N.C., does a masterful job of not only giving you one of the longest hikes in the park, at 6.8 miles, but gets you away from the popular park’s crazy crowds.

Eno River State Park is one of the most popular state parks in North Carolina, regardless of the time of year. With this guide, though, you’ll piece together a nearly 7-mile hike that quickly escapes the park’s masses and takes you through rolling terrain that captures the peace of the Piedmont. It’ll also take you on a good climb or two, and expose you to some fun rock scrambling at water’s edge. Our guide includes:

  • Key details, including trailhead location, blaze colors, kid- and dog-friendliness, difficulty, whether there are facilities at the trailhead and more.
  • Map of the route
  • Route description to keep you on course
  • 206-second video virtual tour
