Description

Raven Rock State Park has grown in popularity over the years, so much so that, as a result of the pandemic, people have had to queue up outside the park to wait they’re turn for a socially distanced hike. That’s at the main park; across the Cape Fear River on the north side of the park, it’s a different story. The Avents Creek Access offers a pair of four-mile loops that offer access to a more scenically rugged section of the park, a section that includes several impressive (for the Piedmont) waterfalls. Our guide offers insights into hiking the 8 miles of trail at Avents Creek.
