Located in norther Durham County, the Triangle Land Conservancy’s Horton Grove Nature Preserve has 8 miles of hiking on 7 trails. You can hike short, or you can put together a hike with a minimal amount of overlap that will get you into double-digit territory.

Our recommended hike utilizes 5 of the the preserve’s trails for a 4.3-mile hike that takes in just about every natural feature this 708-acre preserve has to offer. Hike through a restored Piedmont prairie, hike through bottomland forest, above a Piedmont creek that carves a deep ravine, through an impressive beech forest and more.
