Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: First Dip of the Season.
First day of Spring Break for the kids, my step daughter’s 14th birthday, a promising forecast for the coast … . It all added up to a trip to the beach on Friday — and the season’s first dip into the ocean. A chilly ocean, it should be noted, with the water temperature at Johnnie Mercer’s Pier a brisk 64. That’s about 20 degrees below the mid-summer average, btw.
For the record, it’s not an official dip until your head goes under. Was mine official? Take 90 seconds to find out.
