Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: A Day On (and In) the Water.
Few activities say more about being a kid come summer than being in the water. Preferably, a body of cool, non-chlorinated water where you aren’t entirely sure what other life forms you’re sharing the water with.
Saturday afternoon we had the ideal opportunity to let the kids do just that — while at the same time letting the parents, who over the years have become less enamored with swimming with who-knows-what, do their thing on the water.
Revisiting Saturday’s trip, a trip under clear skies with temperatures in the upper 80s and rare 10 percent humidity, on a rainy Monday seems especially apropos.
