Saturday’s GetHiking! Triangle hike — an 8.3-miler on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail at Falls Lake north of Raleigh — was the first hot hike of the season. And not just hot, but humid. Sweaty and muggy. Salt-in-your-eyes sweaty, body-parts-sticking-to-body-parts muggy. A good hike, but one that made one realize that the spring hiking season — in the Piedmont, at least — is drawing to a close.
