90 Second Escape: Paddle time

Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.

Today’s 90-Second Escape: Paddle Time

Every fall, we become obsessed with hiking, and understandably so. The color, the dry air, the clear skies; after four months of heat, annoying flying things and trails dripping with cobwebs, we once again experience hiking for the rejuvenating escape that it is.

But fall is also a great time to grab a paddle and quietly explore the region’s waterways. Larger bodies of water have less motorboat traffic, and fall color along the water tends to pop that much more.

With our friends at Great Outdoor Provision Co., we’ve come up with “Fall Paddling: Better Color, Better Quiet,” a rundown of top spots to paddle in the fall. Check it out, make plans.

In the meantime, to put you in the mood take a 90 Second paddle with us on Goose Creek.
