Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: Light
Exploring the past couple weeks under a variety of conditions, we were reminded of the significant, yet somehow subtle, impact light has on our outdoors experience. Saturday in Linville Gorge we experienced the brilliant light of a fall sky swept clean by a passing cold front. A few days earlier, we ran on a local greenway in soft light courtesy a sky of mottled, indecisive clouds.
Brilliant and bright, soft and subtle, dark and brooding — sample them all in today’s 90 Second Escape.
