Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: Pining for a paddle
It happens every year: the first time the temperature gets into the upper 70s, as is forecast for later this week, https://www.wunderground.com/us/nc/havelock and there’s no way we can get out to fully enjoy. And by “fully enjoy,” I mean grab a kayak and head to the coast, to a favorite paddle: Milltail Creek in the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.
Instead, we do the next best thing: we trot out this Escape from a few years ago and enjoy 90 Seconds of tranquil paddling — and spotting for the refuge’s namesake reptile.
Enjoy.
