Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: Farewell to the Warm Waters of Summer
We always look forward to fall, possibly more so than any other season. The cool weather offers great incentive to do so many things: take a long hike, do a midday mountain bike ride, go rock climbing, go backpacking. But there’s one thing we’ll miss from summer: the warm water that accommodates so many of our recreational needs. (“Needs,” not “wants”? Absolutely.)
Today, on the first day of October, as those warm waters cool for the winter, we take a look back at water in its various recreational forms.
