90 Second Escape: A month of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail

Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.

Today’s 90-Second Escape: A Month of the MST

May is Mountains-to-Sea Trail Month. We plan to celebrate North Carolina’s statewide trail with a series of hikes along its 1,000-mile width. First up: a 10.6-mile hike along a stretch of the MST along Falls Lake north of Raleigh. (Find details of that hike and sign up, here.)

To get you in the mood for hiking the MST this spring, we take you back to spring 2014 for a hike on the MST, also along Falls Lake.

Enjoy, and we’ll see you on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail this month.
