Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: Walking in the Rain
If you view wetness with the same horror as the Wicked Witch of the West, you’ve no doubt been cooped up the past several days. But if you’ve come to embrace the rain for nature-enhancing experience it can be, you’ve been experiencing a little outdoor ecstasy.
For both camps, we share this week’s minute and a half of Monday morning escape: a Saturday morning walk in the wet woods of Umstead State Park. As relaxing in person as it is in pixels.
