Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: Fall’s Fading Light
Daylight is suddenly becoming a scarce commodity. Tonight, for instance, the sun will set at 6:59; come Saturday, we’ll run out of daylight by 6:52 — a full seven minutes earlier. For those of us who get our energy from being out in the sun, that’s a sobering trend.
Maybe that’s why the last light of day becomes all the more special this time of year. If you don’t have a chance to get out and enjoy those last rays of day this week, you can always experience 90 seconds of it with us.
