90 Second Escape: Water along the trail

Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.

Today’s 90-Second Escape: Water along the trail

Water always makes a chatty companion on a hike, even more so when the weather heats up. It’s constant, flowing (or lapping, in the case of our lake friends) reminder serves as psychological coolant; then, when our bodies get wise to that, you can always wade in — or, depending upon its abundance — dive.

Today, a 90 Second salute to the trail waters that keep us cool.

  1. This is the perfect thing for me at this time. I’m planning a wedding, just lost my job because Mom decided to stay home for the summer. So much stress in both of those, I need a change of pace. Mr. Pisgah Wilderness trails with the beautiful streams/wildlife, the cool air, the feeling of being so close to God. That is true serenity. I could go for this. I need the hiking also. This is a great stress reliever. Let’s go for it!
