Monday — never an easy time for the outdoors enthusiast. After a weekend of adventure, returning to the humdrum work-a-day world can make one melancholy. To help ease the transition, every Monday we feature a 90 Second Escape — essentially, a 90-second video or slide show of a place you’d probably rather be: a trail, a park, a greenway, a lake … anywhere as long as it’s not under a fluorescent bulb.
Today’s 90-Second Escape: Huck-A-Buck Redux
Saturday was the 14th running of the Huck-A-Buck at Lake Crabtree County Park in Morrisville. The Huck-A-Buck is a tradition in Triangle mountain bike racing, born of the inspiration of Happy Fun Racing and its visionary leaders Pat Lundergan and Chris Pappas. Three years ago, its demise was rumored. Fortunately, the rumor proved to be just that.
Alas, we weren’t able to make this year’s race. Instead, we take a look back to the race’s 10th running, in 2011. Come along for the ride.
