In Wednesday’s blog — “This Week, It’s All About Welcoming Spring” — we pretty much spelled out what this weekend should be about, so we’ll keep this short. First, the weather:
Weather: Saturday, expect partly sunny skies and temperatures around 70, Sunday, slightly sunnier skies and temperatures near 80. A great weekend to enjoy the waning days of winter.
Stuff to do: North Carolina State Parks has 16 events this weekend, check ‘em out here; the Eno River Association holds its last Sunday hike of its Winter series, though expect it to be more springlike on this hike to Buckquarter Creek. Check it out here; Our GetHiking! group is spending the weekend exploring the Jones Lake area, and you can sign up to join us until midnight tonight, by going here.
Also, if you’re interested in heading out to search for Spring wildflowers, we share some thoughts on the hunt in a tip sheet you can download here.
