On Thursday, we wrote of our forgotten trails, the trails that we once hiked regularly, the trails we dreamt of hiking when hiking was in our dreams. And then, for some reason, we stopped hiking them. Can’t really remember why, either.
We wrote about one such trail that we discovered earlier this week, a nearly 3-mile loop consisting of two trails at Eno River State Park. We hiked it Wednesday morning, immediately wondered why it had been so long — 3 years, maybe more? — between hikes.
Today’s video is of that hike, a 2.7-mile loop consisting of the Cole Mill and Bobbit Hole trails at the Cole Mill Access to Eno River State Park. We also have an eguide available for the hike, available for free through the weekend by using this coupon code: MYM43EJS. Order the eguide here.
What’s this have to do with things to do this weekend? Well, you have homework for the weekend: Go out and rediscover a trail that you haven’t hiked in a while. Take pictures, post them on our GetGoingNC Facebook page, share a little about why you like the trail. On Monday’s Facebook Live report at 8 a.m., we’ll talk about your discoveries.
And no excuses! The weather won’t be quite as picture perfect as it was last weekend, but it’s looking pretty darn good. A chance of rain on Saturday, sun on Sunday, with temperatures around 80.
Now, GetOut!
